Karachi: Police and Rangers have arrested six criminals including a target killer in various parts of city, the financial hub of Pakistan.
Sources said that a large number of contingents raided the 10 number area of Orangi Town on a tip-off and took Shahid alias Darinda into custody and recovered two Kalashnikovs, repeater gun and three TT pistols are included.
Sources said the accused who is an important member of Lyari gang war, is said to be involved in various incidents of target killings, shifted to undisclosed locations for further investigations.
Moreover, police arrested two extortionists in Kharadar, who gave receipt to a doctor for Rs 200,000 extortion in the area. The doctor after receiving the slip immediately informed the Kharadar police, following which SIT Clifton team raided the area at late night and arrested the extortionists. They were identified as Asif and Javaid.
In another incident, police arrested three accused who were involved in criminal activities and recovered arms and mobiles.
Meanwhile, unidentified armed men open fire a religious scholar, Molana Talha Rehmani, who was the Amir Wifaq ul Madaris and Shura member of Jamea Binori Town, were injured near Nipa Chowrangi, Gulistan e Jauhar.
The condition of Rehmani is said to be safe now.
