Karachi: At least three people including a Navy officer have been killed in different shooting incident in Karachi on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday.
In the fresh incident unidentified armed assailants shot dead a man on Maripur Road, Keamari. The identity of the victim is yet to be known.
Unknown gunmen on motorcyle shot dead two people, including a Navy officer, in North Karachi. Police sources said it seems an apparently targeted-killing related incident.
Nasir Nafees, Lt. Commander of Pakistan Navy was going home after offering Zohar prayer when armed assailants opened fire that left one Anwar Iqbal dead on the spot and Nafees critically injured. Nafees succumbed to his injures at Civil Hospital Karachi during treatment.
It was not immediately clear whether Nafees or Iqbal was the orginial target of terrorists, who fled on motorcycle.
Police officials say they were investigating the incident.
The killing came as Sindh Interior Minister Manzoor Wasan claimed on Wednesday that wave of targeted-killings had ended in Karachi.
