Karachi: A high level meeting presided over by Prime Minister Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has decided indiscriminate operation in the capital city of the southern province of Pakistan.
According to The News Tribe correspondent in Karachi, Home Minister Sindh Manzoor Wasan said that the PM Monday approved a high level operation in Karachi. In the first phase, the operation would be launched in nine sensitive areas of the metropolis, the meeting decided.
However, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain demanded resignation from Prime Minister Pakistan if he was unable to stop target killing in Karachi. He said terrorists’ lists had been provided but no serious action has been seen.
Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that now people would see action instead of talks. He said operation would be launched from all terrorists no matter they belong to PPP, MQM or any other party.
He said failure of the operation would be considered as failure of democracy. He said PPP does not believe on the politics of blame game.
Responding to Hussain’s demand of resignation from Prime Minister Pakistan, he said the MQM chief’s demand of resignation from a democratic PM is illogic.
He of the view that terrorist would be brought before media as Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik announced earlier.
Memon said that there is no need to call Army in Karachi because police and Rangers have potential to control law and order situation of the metropolis.
He said target killing in Karachi is being carried out with an organized planning.
