London: India got a major blow ahead of the ODI series against England asĀ Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma have been ruled out of the series due to injuries.
Virender Sehwag, who had undergone a shoulder surgery recently, is experiencing headaches due to Labyrinthitis of left ear. He will need further treatment and rest. Ishant Sharma reportedly suffered a ligament injury in his left ankle at Edgbaston, but still played at the Oval.
Mumbai’s opener Ajinkya Rahane and Jharkhand fast bowler Varun Aaron will replace Sehwag and Ishant in the team. They performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded Emerging Players Tournament in Australia.
India remained unbeaten in the three-day matches and T20 games to finish at the top of the points table in both formats. Ajinkya Rahane scored 274 in three matches with two hundreds.
Varun Aaron is considered as one of the fastest bowlers available in India. He recently bowled a 153-kph ball in Vijay Hazare Trophy final. He regularly clocks over 140kph. He took 10 wickets in 3 three-day matches down under.
