Peshawar: Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan Sunday night announced that Ramazan moon has been sought in different parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and first Ramazam will be on Monday.
Talking to media here at Masjid Qasim Ali Khan, he said six authentic evidences, including two ulamas and a woman, came at the Masjid to inform that have sighted the moon.
Other evidences including four from Mardan, eight from Mir Ali, three from Spin Wardak were also received from different areas, confirming the sighting of Ramazan moon.
Meanwhile, meeting of central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held on Monday to sight the Ramazan moon in leadership of Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman.
Mufti Shahabuddin said the difference between the central and zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees is the same as exists between possibility and certainty. He said that now, it is the duty of central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to collect the evidences from the witnesses.
It is pertinent to mention here that differences between central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and the committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan over the moon sighting have been continuing for a long time.
MPA Nighat Oarkzai said that Mufti Sahabuddin plays with Ramazan and Eid, and she said she would present a suspension motion against him.
