Islamabad: Secretary of State Hilary Clinton telephoned President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari late on Thursday and discussed several issues including bilateral and regional.
According to Presidential spokesman, Farhatullah Babar, Hilary Clinton told President of Pakistan that US gives importance to partnership with Pakistan. She also assured the president that America would continue supporting democracy in Pakistan.
Sources said that Hilary also discussed the US aid cut to Pakistan. She assured Zardari that Obama administration would continue its efforts of supporting Pakistan in war on terror as Pakistan tendered a lot of sacrifices in war against terrorism.
President Zardari told Secretary of State that Pakistan wants cordial ties with the US but on equality basis. Zardari said that both the countries would continue supporting each other in different issues.
Both the leaders also discussed security and terrorism issues of the region.
