Islamabad: Pakistan Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has issued directives to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as well as Ministry of Communications that the impediments might be removed in the transportation of those edible items, which may perish within short period of time to Afghanistan under Pak Afghan Transit Trade Agreement.
A meeting was held at Finance Ministry to speed up the process of carrying of vegetables, food items and condiments to Afghanistan under the chairmanship of Minister of Finance.
It was decided in the meeting that report may be forwarded to Finance Ministry on daily basis showing that how many containers having perviable food items crossed the border that day form Wagah border and Karachi Port to Afghanistan.
The meeting also took review to make Peshawar Dry Port active for execution of Afghan trade in befitting manner.
