Quetta: The federal tax ombudsman has taken suo motto notice of issues and managed to clear 50,000 containers and refund about seven billion rupees to affectees.
The ombudsman said that this amount was 32 percent more than ever refunded during past nine years, and this was also disclosed that the tax ombudsman was ready to decide the Rs. 1.5 billion worth of cases already pending in higher courts.
He also stressed on the importance of linking the entire import/export regular imports with latest facilities and wireless system, while also informing that regular imports had ushered increase of Rs one billion monthly.
Earlier President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce, Wali Muhammad Noorzai briefed the tax ombudsman about various problems being faced by traders through customs and tax deductions.
