Lahore: Entry test for engineering universities and colleges of Punjab, which were annulled two days ago because of leaking the entry test paper before exam, has been rescheduled for September 11.
The investigation committee has also changed the admission staff. The inquiry committee is led by University of Engineering and Technology (UET)’s Electrical Department Dean Dr Zubair A. Khan.
The three-member committee has started probing the scam and held its first session Monday. After the session, it was told that the paper has been rescheduled with a gap as Ramazan is approaching. The committee said the candidates whose entry test has been cancelled would not be charged fee again. On the other hand, the admission staff has been replaced and the new team has been put under the command of Prof Muhammad Ali.
The inquiry committee would meet on a daily basis and the culprits who leaked the papers would soon be traced and prosecuted. Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa, who is also Chancellor of the university, has also talked to UET Vice Chancellor on the telephone and sought the report of the case.
