Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Monday rejected an application moved by the government, seeking time for appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (Nab) chief.
A division bench of the SC, comprising Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali and Justice Asif Saeed Khosa announced the verdict over the application filed by the government through Additional Attorney General K.K Agha, seeking one-month time for the appointment .
The apex court had ordered the government to appointment Nab chairman till July 21 after it declared appointment of former Nab chief Deedar Hussain Shah’s appointment null and void.
Moreover, the SC also stopped deputy Nab Chief Javed Zia from working as acting head of the Nab.
