Muzaffarabad: Pakistan Peoples’ Party won six out of eight reserved seats of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly while Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Muslim Conference won one each, according to unofficial results.
Elections were held on Sunday for eight reserved seats in AJK LA meant for 5 women and one each for technocrats, religious scholars and overseas Kashmiris.
Shaheen Kouser, Saddaf Sheikh, Shazia Akber of PPP won women reserved seats while PML-N’s Dr Fauzia and MC’s Dr Mahrunnisa won their seats.
PPP’s Pir Ateeq-ur-Rehman, Faiz Puri and Abid Hussain won the seats reserved for religious scholar, technocrats and overseas Kashmiris respectively.
The newly-elected legislative assembly members will take oath at a Legislative Assembly session on July 25 in Muzaffarabad.
