Karachi: At least 25 people have been shot dead in pitched gun battle in Karachi during last 24 hours.
Karachi is still in grip of violence as death toll has reached twenty-five during last twenty-four hours. The worst affected parts were Landhi and Malir where search operation has been started. Rocket launchers and hand grenades were also fired in Malir.
Heavy police contingent and Rangers have been deployed in Landi, Bakra Pari, Daood Goth and Millat town areas. Some unknown bike riders gunned down a youth in North Nazimabad and the body has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital. According to police sources, the youth has not been identified yet.
Two bullet riddled bodies have been recovered from car having registration number ARK-363 here in jurisdiction of Gulshan Iqbal police station.
Terrorists gunned down Fayaz Hussain, activist of MQM unit-28Â here in jurisdiction of Nabbi Bux police station. The dead body has been shifted to Civil hospital.
A body of a youth packed in a gunny bag has been recovered from Usmanabad. On the other hand some unknown bike riders opened indiscriminate firing at sweets shop near Anda mor killing three persons at the spot. The deceased have been identified as Zafar, Furqan and Farhan.
The extremists gunned down Akhlas Khan (26), Khalid Khan and Kala Khan near medical hospital in jurisdiction of Gulberg police station.
Three persons identified as Shahnawaz, Majid and Zeeshan sustained injuries due to terrorist’s firing here in jurisdiction of Saood Abad police station.
Unknown men opened indiscriminate firing and killed Suhail and another person in Shah Faisal Baloch muhalla, Orangi town.
Unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing and injured Khalil Murad Baloch and Murtaza Ghanchi in jurisdiction of Napier police station.
Some unknown miscreants trespassed in a mosque and opened indiscriminate firing killing Qari Naveed while injuring Noor Ul Islam and Abdul Razaq. According to police sources, Qari Naveed was activist of banned Sipa-e-Sahaba
Police have arrested several suspected persons during search operation here in Tiara society and Malir.
