Lahore: University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has cancelled the entry test held today.
This step was taken after news surfaced out that the entry test paper had been leaked. Initially the students had demanded cancelation of the test alleging that the paper had been leaked. However it was only after the private news cahnnel broadcasted news of paper leakage that the University took the decision of annulling the test.
The Entry tests were held in Lahore, Multan and Taxila for which Ten examination centres were set up. A total number of 41,000 candidates appeared in the test.
The date for the new entry test will be announced later.
The Vice Chancellor of the university Muhammad Akram told media that the paper had found to be leaked and therefore had been cancelled. He said that a 3-member team had been formed to probe this incident.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor held a meeting with the UET management after reports that some portion of the paper had been leaked out. After the meeting it was announced that the entry test held earlier was being annulled and a new date would be announced.
