While talking to the media men after arrival in Karachi on Sunday, he said that important matters including Samjhota Express came under discussion in the meeting with Indian Interior Minister. “I told Chidambaram that approximately 3,500 suicide attacks were occurred in Pakistan. Pakistan is herself a victim of terrorism so badly that there is 9/11 and 26/11 everyday for us. Pakistan needs international support in the anti-terror war,” he added.
He said that entire countries should be united against menace of terrorism because all have equal responsibility to maintain peace in the region. He said that for the first time Pakistan’s stance during SAARC conference was brought to an international forum. Pakistan floated a suggestion to constitute a task force against pirates, which was backed by India. He told the journalists that issues regarding combating terrorism, money laundering, police reforms, and ways and means to fight against pirates were discussed at Thimpu SAARC moot.
Responding questions about the law and order crises in Karachi, the interior minister said that all the relevant parties should make a strategy as joint efforts is required for restoration of peace in Karachi , which the top most priority of the government. The state of affairs at the city could not be improved overnight. He said that there is no any ethnic factor in police or rangers.
