Islamabad: Pakistan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have begun joint investigation into a cross-border attack on security forces border check Post in Angor Ada, South Waziristan agency.
Pakistan has long been demanding a halt to cross border attacks from Afghanistan as several security officials and civilian were killed in such attack recently. Well places sources in Pakistan’s Defence Ministry told The News Tribe that the joint probe has been initiated on Pakistan’s demand.
Source said that a team comprising senior officers of ISAF arrived Pakistan on Saturday and begun investigation along with senior Pakistan Army officers. The team would not only determine responsible of the attacks but would also lend recommendations to stop such mistakes in future, sources said, adding that the team would also visit the site, in South Waziristan besides recording statement of injured security personnel in Angur Ada attack. Soon after the attack in Angor Ada that killed four Security personnel, the Afghan based international forces had expressed reluctance but later they admitted they mistakenly carried out the attack. At least 65 mortar shells have been fired by ISAF and Afghan National Army in country’s tribal areas in last days.
