Peshawar: At least six militants were killed and several others injured in a clash with security forces in northwestern tribal region near Afghan border, sources said on Firday.
The sources said that several militants armed with heavy weapons attacked a security check-post in Dabori area of Orakzai Agecny and killed a security official. They said that the forces retaliated in befitting manner, klling six militants and injuring several others. The forces launched a search operation in the area following the deadly clash.
Moreover, Two blasts rocked shrine of prominent Pashto poet Hamza baba in late night, damaging walls and tomb. Reports said militants hurled hand grenade inside the shrine after the security guard foiled their attempt to enter in the compound. Media report says walls of the shrine and two nearby shops were destroyed in the explosions.
