Islamabad: A local court on Thursday sent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Aqeel Anjum on three day physical remand in bogus cheque case.
He was remanded to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) by a civil judge. The FIA presented the accused before the judge amid tight security. Police have registered several cases, including corruption, escape from police custody and bogus cheque.
The lawmaker was gotten freed by his loyalist from the police custody this week and he went into hiding. Later the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif formed a committee in this regard, asking Aqeel to surrender before police. The lawmaker said conspiracies had been hatched against him by certain quarters to trap him. He denied his involvement in any illegal activity.
