Islamabad: Senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the head of Abottabad commission has expressed concerns over Lt. Gen. (Retd) Nadeem Ahmed’s statement of ‘clean chit to ISI’ and termed it his personal statement.
Gen (Retd) Nadeem Ahmed, who was also a member of Abottabad commission, in an interview to an Australian radio had said that Pakistan’s ISI did not provide any assistance to Osama bin Laden who was killed by the US commandos in a raid on May 2.
Justice Javed Iqbal told senior Pakistani journalist Ansar Abbasi that Gen Nadeem Ahmed should not passed such statement, and the statement has no link with the commission report.
Justice Iqbal also said that the commission was in initial stage and it was premature to pass any comment before the completion of report.
