Karachi: The Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited has suspended its operations in Karachi over what it said the government has failed to provide security to its establishments and staff.
According to a statement issued here on Wednesday all the operation will remain suspended until the government provides full security to the utility.
The statement noted that protesting employees of the KESC have been imposing losses and damaged 23 transformers, besides kidnapping 50 vehicles.
The citizens of the metropolis have long been suffering due to differences between the utility and its employees over range of issues regarding job. The KESC has failed to provide the people a sigh of relief in scorching summer and resorting to prolonged power outages despite the fact that the PEPCO has been providing it with uninterrupted supply.
