Karachi: At least seven people were killed in different shooting incidents in Pakistan’s financial hub just before MQM’s Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan is going to take the charge as Governor Sindh again after all issues have been finalized between MQM and PPP.
The shooting incidents took place in different areas of the metropolis including Orangi Town, Qasba Mor, Nazimabad, Malir, Baldia and Korangi, police and rescue officials told The News Tribe correspondent.
Unidentified armed men riding a bike sprayed with bullets two activists of banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan when they were sitting at a shop in New Golimar area Nazimabad. As a result Mullah and Shahzad died on the spot, creating panic and fear in the area.
The victims were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
Soon after the incidents aerial firing incidents were reported, compelling the shopkeepers to shut their business.
Heavy contingent of police and rangers have been called in the area to control the situation.
In three separate incidents, buses were targeted in Orangi Town, Qasba Mor and Banaras.
Armed gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at a bus of private textile company in MPR Colony of Orangi Town, killing a youth Naveed.
Another bus was targeted near Charpai Mor in Banaras.
While, a bus of root 15 was targeted near Qasba Mor, killing the driver of the bus and injuring three others.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in Ghost (meat) Market of Malir area.
Two men were gunned down in Korangi and Bheempura areas. However, several injured in different areas.
