Karachi: Favourite Sara Ahmed toned down giant killer Hania Naveed, who defeated second seed Urooj Iltifat in semifinals, in the summit clash of women’s singles event in Pizza Hut Open Tennis Ranking Championship on Monday at Modern Club.
Sara Ahmed found little resistance from her final opponent Hania Naveed and recorded an immaculate 6-0, 6-0 triumph to secure the event’s title. Sara Ahmed combined forces with Urooj Iltifat in women’s doubles event and also clinched this event’s title as well. The duo faced siblings Neha Khan and Wania Khan in the final and eventually recorded a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Meanwhile, Altaf Hussain and Rafiq Godil defeated Zafar Hasan and Azharuddin in the final of 45-plus doubles event by 6-2, 6-3 score. In U-15 final, Malik Hamza blanked Saud Shoaib registering a formidable 6-0, 6-0 win.
