Islamabad: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar said Monday that relations with the United States had their ups and downs adding that American aid had been delayed not suspended.
Speaking to the media at the Parliament House, Khar said that relations with America had operational problems not strategic. She said Pakistan had never been dependent on the dollar and American aid was not even one percent of the GDP. Replying to a question she said improvement was being made in talks with India.
Khar will take over as the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and the summary in this regard has already been sent by the Prime Minister to the President. She will lead Pakistan’s delegation during the ministerial level talks between Pakistan and Indian in New Delhi later this month.
