Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, Siddiqui al-Farooq has disclosed that former premier Benazir Bhutto had gone into exiles during 1978 and 1998 after discreetly beseeching pardons from Gen Zia-ul-Haq and PML-N Chairman Mian Nawaz Sharif respectively.
The PML-N leader said that Benazir Bhutto returned back to country in 1986, after 8 years; while the second time around, she returned after nine years of exile.
Meanwhile, the PPP leader, Taj Haider said that Benazir struggled to save her under-trail father, the former prime minister, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, while in 1998, both she and her husband Asif Ali Zardari were struggling against fake cases filed against the couple; while Saif-ur-Rehman and Justice Qayoom were threatening them with dire consequences.
He also alleged that those who murdered Bhutto were trying to prove their innocence through writing various books.
