Karachi: Awami National Party, Sindh clarified its position over the statement of Senior Sindh Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza that ANP has nothing to do with Mirza’s statement as it was his own thinking.
“The followers of Wali Khan accept the sacrifices tendered by Urdu speaking people for the creation of Pakistan from the core of their hearts”. ANP Sindh chapter’s spokesman in his statement said that politicians, media and public are equally responsible to play their role in establishing peace in Karachi.
He said that fresh wave of violence in Karachi and loss of lives and property is deplorable. These unfortunate incidents with regular intervals not only shook the confidence of the common people from politicians but also created sense of insecurity among the masses.
The spokesman said that every person has a constitution right to say anything. As a matter of fact ANP Sindh President Shahi Syed hosted a reception to celebrate restoration of commissionerate system in Sindh and Dr Zulfiqar Mirza was among the guests.
On the occasion, Mirza unexpectedly used careless and rash tone against the leadership of MQM. However, ANP had nothing to do with his statement as it was his personnel views.
“ANP give respect to every citizen of Pakistan irrespective of cast, language or breed. It was the ANP which first of all accepted the social status of Urdu speakers. He said that some elements are making efforts to craft differences among Urdu and Pushto speakers and we have shown our apprehensions on it several times”, spokesman added.
