Snooker WC 2011: Pakistan beat Ireland by 3-2

Bangkok: Pakistan snooker team beat Ireland by 3.2 in the first round of the PTT-EGAT Snooker World Cup 2011 here in Thailand on Monday.

The Irish team consists of former world champion Ken Doherty and Fergal O’Brien slumped to a 3-2 loss against Pakistani team comprising Muhammad Sajjad and Sahid Aftab on the opening day of the event.

Pakistan will face Germany in the next match on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ireland must have to win their next match against Egypt on Wednesday to stay in the event.
