Islamabad: A high level meeting chaired by President and Prime Minister of Pakistan has decided that Manzoor Wasan would be new Home Minister Sindh, sources said late on Friday.
The meeting decided that Sindh Minister for Works and Services, Manzoor Wasan, would be given charge of Sindh Home Minister. Wasan was replaced with former provincial home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza.
Wasan is one of the senior Pakistan Peoples’ Party leaders. He is also the member of Central Executive Committee of PPP.
While, Dr. Mirza would be given the portfolio of the Sindh Minister for Works and Services.
It is worth mentioning here that former Sindh home minister Dr Mirza has been on vacation for a month.
MQM had serious reservations over Dr Mirza’s statement and they had apprised President of Pakistan about their concerns.
MQM leader Raza Haroon expressed hope that new Sindh Home Minister would resolve the issues of law and order in Sindh, especially in Karachi.
He said the MQM has no problem that who would be appointed as Sindh Home Minister, but the main issue was law and order situation in the province.
Notification in this regard would be issued soon, the sources said.
