Has Rameez Raja junior who scored consecutive half centuries in semi final and final of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup done enough to win selectors attention? Will the youngster win a Pakistan cap now?
I think he should be given opportunity to play for Pakistan in the T20 format of the game, at least. For tests and one-days he needs to perform in the domestic first class tournaments.
Raza Hasan also must have impressed the selectors. His final over was great. Not allowing a batsman like Shahzaib Hassan to hit any boundary was a great achievement. He has been impressive while playing for Pakistan Under 19 as well. I am sure he will prove himself a better bowler than Abdul Rehman who is a great container, but not a regular wicket taker.
What about Sohail Khan staging a comeback? He had a forgettable test debut against Sri Lanka in early 2009 when he failed to get a single wicket. He hasn’t got another opportunity since at the test level.
His four one-day performances were not bad although where he took five wickets. So I think with his impressive performance in the domestic T20 cricket he should be given a chance in limited overs cricket.
