KARACHI: At the end of the first week of Clean & Green Karachi Campaign, a total of 37,361 tons of garbage was lifted from various parts of the metropolis and disposed of at landfill sites.
Heavy machinery was used for lifting garbage from designated garbage transfer stations and then shifting it to landfill site.
Various municipal services providers including city government, town administration and other agencies disposed of 4320 tons garbage to landfill sites on the first day of ongoing campaign while they delivered 5347 tons garbage on second day, 5238 tons garbage on third day, 4669 tons garbage on fourth day, 5951 tons garbage on fifth day, 6054 tons garbage on sixth day and 6431 tons garbage on the seventh day to the landfill sites.
