Tokyo: An earthquake of 6.7 magnitude rattled Japan’s northeastern parts of Tokyo on Thursday morning, United States Geological Survey reported.
T-tsunami warning has been issued in the affected area.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the quake that hit at 6:50 am (Local Time).
The US Pacific Tsunami warning center has said that the earthquake did not expect a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami from the quake.
It was offshore of Honshu island, and was some 325 miles (524 kilometers) northeast of Tokyo, the USGS said. The quake was 19.9 miles (32 kilometers) deep.
