Islamabad: Attorney General (AG) Sindh Fateh Malik said on Monday that the DG Rangers and IG Sindh police would be removed as per the Supreme Court orders and the provincial government will not file review petition against the apex court’s orders seeking removal after the extra judicial killing of a youth by Rangers personnel in Karachi.
Earlier in the morning he told reporters that the issue belongs to the federal government and would be resolved by the federation, adding that the IG Sindh police and DG Rangers are the federations’ employees.
Malik said that the federal government appointed Babar Awan as defence lawyer in the case and he suggested that the review petition be postponed.
The AG said investigation into the case has been completed and the accused personnel would be charge-sheeted within two to three days.
The SC had given three-day deadline to the government for the removal of the officers on Friday in suo motu case.
