Islamabad: Government of Pakistan has decided to import 190,000 ton oil to end the ongoing fuel crisis in the country.
The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) load shedding will be restricted to one day during the crisis. Federal Secretary for Petroleum Ijaz Chaudhry said that seven oil companies have been issued show-cause notices for not maintaining their reserves.
The reasons for the crisis in Punjab are said to be a technical fault in Attock Oil Refinery and circular debt. The oil stock is left for just four days and further delay in import could be caused by the cyclone.
