One hour in the sun can snatch eight weeks of fairness from you. If you want your skin to look great this summer, you have to take care of it. Here are few ways to maintain your skin this summer.
~ It is always important to cleanse your skin. However, in the summer, this step is extremely critical. Between being out in the warm weather and sun bathing, your skin will develop an excess amount of sebum (oil). If the sebum stays on your skin too long, it can lead to breakouts and clogged pores. Remember to cleanse your skin in the morning and at the end of the day.
~ Apply sunscreen regularly on face and body. During the summertime, you need to protect yourself from the sun’s UV rays. Choose a sunscreen that best suits your skin type. If you’re very fair skinned, stick with a sunscreen that has SPF 45 or higher. If you tan easily, you should be fine using a sunscreen with SPF 30.
~ As the warm weather can lead to perspiration and shiny faces, powder can serve as the ultimate tool for fighting against an oily T-zone and cheeks. You can use either a pressed or loose powder. With the combination of perspiration, sunscreens and natural skin oils, bacteria can build up, therefore, switch out your pressed powder sponge every one to two weeks.
~ Drink plenty of water. Spending time outside in the warm summer weather leads your skin to become dehydrated. Dehydration makes dry skin and fine lines visible to others. If you stay hydrated, your skin will remain healthy. An easy way to accomplish this is to carry a water bottle with you.
~ Protect your lips while going out in sun. Your lips can also easily become cracked, dry and can cause to skin cancer. Use lip balm or lipstick with at least SPF 15, to keep your lips healthy.
~ Your skin tends to get very dry throughout the summer season, and it needs as much moisture as it can get. Use moisturizing lotions atleast twice a day to protect your body from dryness and wrinkles.
~ When you end up sunbathing the whole day, you’re bound to get sunburn. Another solution is to treat your skin with products that contain large amount of ‘Aloe Vera’ which soothes dryness, burns, and discomfort.
~ During your shower, make sure to exfoliate as much of your body as you can. Exfoliation helps the new layers of glowy skin to come out and kick out the dead skin. A product to help with exfoliation for both body and face, can be some kind of brush, scrub, or loofah, as long as it exfoliates.
~ A healthy diet is always a good idea, even when it comes to sun protection. Use excess of vitamin supplements, specially vitamins C and E to protect your skin from sun burn and to get healthier skin.
~ To get ride of oily skin in summers, Apply fresh tomato pulp directly to your skin which helps extracting oil from the skin and keeps it acne free.
