Peshawar: At least seven people, including a woman and a child were killed and ten others injured in a blast near Patni bazaar in Peshawar.
Security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
According to eyewitnesses blast occurred in a Pick up Van which was heading towards Kala Khel. The site of blast was near Kala Khel Ada. Police officials confirmed the deaths of six people. According to sources five vehicles were destroyed in the blast while the driver of the van has been apprehended.
Senior Police officer Kalam Khan told media three people were killed and eight others injured while five vehicles were destroyed in the blast. He said that the bomb was planted in a vehicle.Sources in the Lady Reading Hospital told that four bodies were brought to the hospital.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the blast.
