Islamabad: President Pakistan’s Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Aasma Jahangir on late Tuesday rejected the commission formed to probe Abottabad operation, terming nomination of most senior judge of the apex court Justice Javed Iqbal was illegal.
President SCBA said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary was not taken into confidence before comprising the commission over Abottabad operation. She said legal formalities were not fulfilled in this regard, and appointment of Justice Javed Iqbal as the head of the commission was totally illegal.
It is significant to mention here that earlier on Tuesday government of Pakistan formed an six-member independent commission to investigate the Abottabad operation, following the unanimous resolution passed by in-camera joint session of the parliament of Pakistan.
