Karachi: The CID police, while conducting raids on various areas of Karachi, have arrested four terrorists of banned Tehrik-e- Pakistan Badr Mansoor Group, impounding heavy cache of weapons from their possession.
While addressing a press conference SSP, CID Omar Shahid Aamir announced that the four terrorists Babar Iqbal alias Babli, Moazz, Habib-ur-Rehman, and Habib-ullah were arrested after a police encounter in Pirabad Police jurisdiction, while some of the accomplices managed to escape owing to darkness.
The CID official said the terrorists were planning to target important and sensitive buildings, installations, and police. The police have also recovered three suicide jackets, two bundles of detonators, two remotes, nine detonating devices, one time-delay device, 18 non-electronic detonators, 10 electric detonators, one Light machine gun silencer, one Kalashnikov with four magazines, one TT pistol, one weapon cleaning kit, six hand grenades, 10 grenade launchers, 25 kilo explosives, three uniforms of a corporate company from them.
The arrested terrorists have disclosed that they also collected extortion money by harassing the business community, to support their terrorist plans. The arrested terrorists have been found to be highly educated, and expert in use and knowledge of latest electronic gadgetry, computers, and their use in acts of terrorism.
One of the arrested terrorists, Moazz alias Irfan, is a university student, who also printed and distributed hateful and subversive materiel among students, preaching extremism.
The police is keeping most of information secret, however according to initial findings, this network has been exposed, whose many activists had been killed /wounded during the Baldia bombing
