Tripoli: NATO air strikes in Tripoli, the capital of Libya, killing the youngest son of Lbyan iron man Muammar Gaddafi, a Libyan government spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, NATO air strikes killed Saif al Arab Gaddafi, the youngest son of Gaddafi. The spokesman said Muammar Gaddafi, who was also present there at the time of the air strike, was unharmed. He said NATO air strike wanted to hit Gaddafi.
“The house of Mr Saif al-Arab Gaddafi was attacked tonight with full power. The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives.
“The leader himself is in good health, he wasn’t harmed,” the spokesman said, adding that Muammar Gaddafi’s wife was also unharmed but other people in the house were injured.
“This was a direct attempt to assassinate the leader of the country”, he said.
He said reporters would be brought to the site in daylight to witness the destruction.
Saif al Arab Gaddafi, 29, was the sixth son of Muammar Gaddafi and he had completed his education from Germany.
