Islamabad: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority (PEMRA) has denied reports of banning transmission of Geo Super, clarifying that PEMRA has have no technology to stop transmission.
PEMRA Acting Chairman Dr Abdul Jabbar said Geo Super, the first sports channel in Pakistan, closed its transmission itself because the channel was up linked through Dubai not from Pakistan and PEMRA has no such technology to stop transmission from Pakistan.
He termed the claim of Geo Super against Pakistan government and PEMRA baseless and said judiciary is being tried to misguide.
Earlier, Geo Administration had claimed that government banned Geo Super through PEMRA. The administration had claimed that the government used cheap actions to black-mail Geo TV.
