Karachi: Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Khan Afridi has once again made it clear that all the players had tried to perform 100 percent in the cricket World Cup 2011, appreciating the team and the nation for support at the time of need.
While talking to a private Pakistani TV channel Afridi said the world cup was the most complicated campground of his 14-year long cricket career, but owing to working hard Pakistan reached in the semifinal.
Afridi said it is a very good sign for Pakistan that now boys wanted to win like Australia. Young guys have great potential to defeat any side, he added.
He said new youngsters should be given chance so that they could groom for future. He suggested senior players that they should take some rest and give a chance to young blood, but it is the duty of the selection committee to select players.
Captain Pakistan cricket team said he would be available for West Indies tour because of lot of pressure from supporters.
Meanwhile, Coach Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis said that changes should be taken place in the national team but the changes should not be like 2003 when most senior players were out from the team at once. He said some senior players should must be in the team to guide new players.
He confessed Pakistan cricket team defeat in the cricket mega event. He said, it does not matter that the trophy given to India was fake or not…India has won the title and he is champ.
