Lahore: Seventeen more doctors, who have been on strike since last 35 days in Punjab province of Pakistan, have been terminated, Punjab Health Department announced on Monday late night.
On the other hand, Pakistan Medical Association has strongly condemned the decision of ransacking young doctors, and demanding removal of security personnel from Punjab hospitals with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Senator Pervez Rashid has said that the doctors who have been on strikes are government employees and they have no rights to go on strike, according to constitution of Pakistan. He said all the doctors who violated the constitution would have to give answer.
He said Punjab government increased the budget of Health Department while free treatment is being given by district level hospitals. Punjab government also provided generators to different medical centers.
He said my sympathies are with young doctors and they should end their strikes peacefully.
