Karachi: Anti Extremism Cell (AEC) and Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police claimed to have arrested a target killer of more than 100 people in Karachi.
This was announced by SSP (AEC) Umar Shahid Hamid and SSP (CTU) Mohammad Aslam Khan in a press conference on Monday.
They said on the directions of Additional IG CID and CCPO Karachi Fayaz Laghari SSP Umar Shaihd and SSP Aslam Khan with police party on a tip off raided near Eidgah Ground in Sector 5-D area of New Karachi and apprehended target killer Ajmal alias Shahnawaz alias Pahari after an encounter.
The police recovered three Kalashnikovs, a gun, three 222 rifles, one 8mm rifle, two repeater guns, four hand grenade, two TT pistols and more than 200 rounds of Kalashnikov.
The accused was suspected in more than 100 target killings of citizens including political activists. The accused during interrogation confessed that he with his aides killed one Ihtisham, a resident of Gulbahar area.
Ajmal Pahari with his other aides had also killed one Tariq Bandhani resident of Bandhani Colony.
Similarly, Ajmal and his other aides killed one Aslam, Dilawar resident of Orangi Town and Imran resident of Lyari Town.
Accused Ajmal confessed that he and his other aides killed six people in Ranchor Lines area in 2006.
Accused killed one unidentified men in 2007 in Lines Area. Accused and his aides killed 14 people in 2007 in Pak Colony area whose FIR number 89/2007 Under Section 302 was registered in Pak Colony Police Station.
