Kamran Akmal needs to be given confidence by the team, said Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi on Wednesday. Akmal came under fire from former players and cricket fans back home on Tuesday when he dropped two consecutive catches in the match against New Zealand.
It has been reported that he might be dropped and his younger brother Umar Akmal might be used as a keeper who kept wickets in a one-day against South Africa after Zulqernain Haider mysteriously disappeared from team hotel in UAE. He also kept wickets in Twenty20 games in the recent series against New Zealand.
The team cannot call Kamran’s replacement unless he gets injured.
