Mardan: A girl died and 34 others were injured in Mardan, a northwestern town of Pakistan, on Tuesday when unknown assailants threw a hand grenade inside a girls college.
Media reports said that the attackers were riding a motorbike. Their identity could not be ascertained.
The wounded students were shifted to Mardan’s Takht Bhai Hospital and Londa Khor Hospital.
Sources in the Londa Khor Hospital told The News Tribe that 18 students were brought there where two of the injured were said to be in critical condition.
The terrorists also opened fire on the college building.
Hundreds of girl schools and colleges have been destroyed in the lawless northwestern tribal belt, bordering Afghanistan, where more than 150,000 US-led troops are fighting against Taliban.
