Islamabad: Join action committee of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has announced to observe a complete strike unless Managing Director PIA not resigns. It was decided in talks between the representatives of Pakistani government and Joint Action Committee (JOC) of PIA end at a deadlock in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Representative from the government side Khurshid Shah has said that JOC has requested more time for talks with the government while president Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) denied any such statement. He said we have very clear stance of removing DG PIA Aijaz Haroon, end agreement with Turkish Airline and restore sacked PIA employees.
Khurshid Shah has said that there is no agreement or memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PIA and Turkish Airline.
Sohail Baloch said that their protest would continue unless their demands not meet. He said their two demands, out of three, have been accepted by the government. He said deadlock between PIA administration and staff is continued.
As the talks end at deadlock, Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad has been handed over to Rangers.
In Karachi, The Airport Security Force (ASF) baton charged PIA employees protesting against route-sharing agreement with Turkish Airlines and media persons.
A number of protesters and media persons were injured by ASF personnel.
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari ahs also called his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gill to discuss the issue.
