Islamabad: The Establishment Division has decided to remove at least 14 contractual officers, including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Waseem Ahmed and Inspector General Sindh Police Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khattak, sources said on Thursday.
The sources said that the secretary establishment has forwarded a summary to the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for the approval.
They said that as many as 157 contractual officers are working on contractual basis after the retirement form their jobs and the Establishment Division has now decided to sack 14 such officers.
It is to mention here that the Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry during a haring of the Haj scandal case had remarked that the DG FIA spoiled the case and ordered the government to remove him from Haj scam probe.
The CJ in another case questioned the attorney general Pakistan whether the IG Sindh was given contract of killing people in Karachi.
Moreover, Sindh Chief Minister have signed a summary recommending removal of 30 contractual officers.
At least 92 contractual officers are working in the province, sources said.
