Lahore: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday declared Moonis Elahi as absconder in National Insurance Corporation (NICL) multi-million scam.
Sources said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) moved an application contending that Moonis Elahi should be declared absconder as he did not appeared before the FIA despite he was issued summons.
The Judicial Magistrate Irfan Basra approved the FIA application and ordered that the accused be produced before the court till March 11.
Moonis Elahi, a son of former Punjab Ex-chief minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was declared an accused in the NICL case following the statement of his manager who alleged that a huge money was submitted in the Moonis’s account in connection with the NICL .
Earlier on Monday, An account of Moonis was frozen on the request of the FIA by a bank located in London.
However, Pakistan Muslime League-Q (PML-Q) denied the media reports, saying that the court has not issued orderes FIA to arrest Moonis Elahi.
It is to mention here that Moonis Elah is living abroad since the FIA has laucnhed an inquiry against him.
