Do you know any cricketer whose career began in a world cup and ended there? Wasim Haider and Iqbal Sikander are two such unfortunate players.
They were part of the Pakistani team that won the 1992 World Cup. Haider played three while Sikander played four games in that competition. Both failed to impress. Following the cup, they were dropped forever.
Haider, a right-handed batsman and fast medium bowler, played 132 first class matches in his 20-year career from 1983 to 2003, scored over 5000 runs and took 261 wickets.
Sikander, a right-handed batsman and legbreak googly bowler, played 189 first class games in his 24-year career from 1976 to 2000, scored over 4000 runs and took 658 wickets.
