Lahore: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said that Raymond Davis, a member of the staff at the American consulate has been booked under section 302 for killing two Pakistani Citizens.
Speaking at a press conference he said that the Punjab Government would not succumb to the foreign pressure in connection with the case, adding that the matter would be handle under the Pakistani laws.
The minister said that the US consulate has pledged to hand over the driver and the car in which Davis was travelling when the incident took place.
He said the accused claimed that the diseased were chasing him and he resorted to firing in his defence.
Rana Sanaullah said that a probe committee headed by the Capital City Police Officer(CCPO) has been formed to investigate the matter. “We should wait the investigation report as the matter is very sensitive” he added.
He reiterated that the provincial government would ensure the supremacy of law at any cost and would not succumb to foreign pressure.
