Peshawar: At least two people were killed and 14 injured, including eight children, when a bomb exploded near a school in Sadar area on Wednesday.
Sources said that the bomb planted in a donkey cart went off, killing two people and injuring 14. After the blast, police and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and the injured to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. Hospital sources said that two of the injured were in critical condition.
SSP Operation Ejaz Khan told the media that four to five kilogram of explosive material was used in the blast triggered by a remote control.
Senior Khyber Pukhtunkha Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour visited the blast site. Talking to the media, he said that terrorists were neither Muslims nor human beings, terming them beasts.
He said that the government was changing its strategy to eliminate terrorism as terrorists are targeting remote areas now.
