Tikrit: At least 50 people were killed and another 140 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up in a police recruitment centre in Tikrit, government officials said on Tuesday.
Sources said that the a suicide bomber wearing an explosive-packed jacket detonated among the recruits near a check point where the recruits wait for their turn to enter a training centre.
The recruitment is located at one of the former palaces of the late president Saddam Hussain, some 160 from Baghdad.
