Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday formed a 5-member committee to contact and coordinate with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) committee for evolving a strategy for implementation of the 10-point ‘agenda’ given by Nawaz Sharif to steer the country out of the prevailing crises.
According to sources, the head of PML-N committee, Seanator Ishaq Dar, contacted the prime minister on Thursday, following which the PM constituted the government committee. The committee comprises Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Water and Power Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharf, Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Parliamentry Affairs Minister Babar Awan and Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Naveed Qamar.
The members of the respective committees would put their heads together and evolve an strategy to implement the agenda and prepare recommendations.
It is to be mentioned here that the PML-N chief had presented a 10-point agenda and asked the government to respond in ‘ Yes or No’ within three days whether it ready to implement the agenda or not, otherwise the PML-N would be compelled to throw out PPP from the Punjab’s coalition government. The prime minister had announced to implement the agenda, following which the PML-N had constituted a 4-member committee headed by Senator Ishaq Dar with Senator Pervaiz Rashid and MNAs Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Abbasi and General (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch as its member to coordinate and collaborate with the government for implementation of the agenda.
